Oopsie!

Woah it has been a seriously long time since I wrote on here...like half a year! Poor bloggy! In all fairness I havent had much to say. My life has been consumed by college which I'll get a break from on Friday when we go on Christmas break. I'm currently trying to finish up a Christmas eCard for a competition within our class but once thats done (man will I be happy when its done) I'll be free for a few weeks. Well except for the illustration project that I have to do over the break, but I can do that....I think.

My sleeping pattern has completely gone down the drain however. Ive become some sort of nocturnal hermit. For example, I have to get up at half 6 for college...it is now 20 past 4 in the morning and I'm not even tired. Unfortunately, this makes working through my days of college a little more complicated. I don't know why my insomnia decides to show its ugly head at the worst times, but it always does. ALWAYS!

So thats about it when it comes to updates, not much going on here. I'll most likely be using this as an art blog more so than a life story one, but when I want to rant I know where to come

Of Nothingness

Well, summer so far has been a murky dullness. I've literally done nothing that is summery except for the odd bbq dotted here and there! Thank God for the lovely weather though!
However, my wardrobe is not cut out for summer weather. I like my layers, my black and my wooly hats. None of which are a good plan when it is twenty something degrees outside!

OH! By the way...I GOT A PUPPY!!! And she is the cutest thing in the whole world! Seriously!

So I haven't really done much. I'm currently working on a really big mural for the music school that is connected with the music shop I work in. It is seriously colourful and could cause people to either go blind or have a seizure! I think it's prettyful though!

I'm am currently trying to get back into the swing of writing new songs. My old ones are from a few years ago when I believed everything had to rhyme and I had a limited knowledge of chords! Seriously want to be in a band ¬___¬
I might be taking part in Musoical festival that the local theatre is putting together next month though so look out for me busking on the streets of Naas!

I went to Dublin yesterday and did a little retail therapy! There are some seriously good sales on at the moment. Like I almost got a t-shirt in BT2 for 12 euro! I KNOW RIGHT?

Anyway, I just thought I should update my blog! I'll try update with pics of the mural and puppy soon!!

The End of an Era

Today is the day I move out of the 2.6 apartment. It's seriously depressing and I don't want to go, seeing as I'm not sure if my housemates are coming back to live here next year. I'm really not so good with meeting new people, and I love all my current housemates I'm currently sitting in my almost empty room, melting due to the random heatwave Ireland is having and contimplating which heavy bag to carry down to the car next.
Tis a sad sad day.

In other news, summer has been rather uneventful. I'm starting work on fixing up a mural tomorrow and then starting new ones whenever the people get back to me. That should be nice for a little extra pocket money seeing as I have still to buy my oxegen ticket and I owe my parents money. Not to mention I just realised I have no summery clothes (hence why I am melting)

I hope everyone has a good summer. I'm gonna try make mine as productive as possible!

Random Ramblings!

Well, I'm back to my blog.

I had to take a break from this due to some personal reasons and due to college related things also!

Anyway, I've had an interesting last few weeks. I finished my first year of college, and I also finished my first year film. I'm rather proud of it! And I got a B+ for it so YEY! I can't believe my first year is already over. I can still remember going in the first day! Sitting in the computer room, being very very scared and trying to figure out how to log on to the computers!

So I'm now on my summer holidays and I'm already stuck for things to do! I suppose when I get back into work and stuff I'll be kept busier. So I have a few plans I want to get through.

I want to lose weight, I want to work on my art, I want to learn the programmes I use in college better, I want to start my web comic and I want to have a damn good time! That sound good to anyone?

So, starting with this month, I'm doing a challenge on Deviantart where I have to draw one of my OC's everyday for the month of May. I have a few to catch up on but it should be pretty fun! I might put them up here too! So yeah...just thought I should update!

Of Colds, Tim Burton, Sunshine and Summer

Wednesday - 14th April - 2.46 am

I'm currently sitting in bed, with a pounding headache, a sore throat and an unfinished essay staring straight at me from my glaring computer screen. Don't get me wrong, it's not a hard essay in fairness. I get to write about Tim Burton which I find extremely satisfying. It's just I cant seem to get motivated today, and true to form, it seems I have left everything till the last minute!

At least some of my deadlines were pushed back. That is always a good thing.

So this week has been glorious so far. Reaching 17/18 degrees over that past few days. It's not helping to motivate us animators into working! Especially when we can see the sea from the window of our studio, and we have a courtyard that catches the sun perfectly.
Also, I have a cold, which is typical and annoying. I seem to always get colds when its warm, I also get them when it's cold so the only time I dont get colds is when it just a bit luke warm. That seriously sucks!
Also...I have run out of neurofen cold and flu.

Bleeeeeeeeeeeeh!

I'm more than half way through my film now and I'm really happy with it. My lecturer seems pretty happy with it to so it's full steam ahead from now on.
I think once Thursday is over I'll be a happy camper. They are the two deadlines I'm most worried about. So once this week is over I can just work on my film and hopefully get it all finished up.
I only have two weeks and a half left in college anyway. Then its summer. I dont have any plans as of yet, except for a few wall mural jobs I've been asked to do. Also I hope to go to Oxegen! Muse are gonna be there along with Paolo Nutini, Vampire Weekend and Mumford and Sons so that should be a good weekend!! Bring on the welly boots!!

I also hope to officially start up the webcomic I've been developing for the last few years. I'm finally happy with the way it looks and the way the cahracters look and all that jazz so, I can get to putting up a few pages now. Huzzah!

Anyway, I'm just sort of rambling now, the lack of sleep is slowing dissolving my brain. So I'm now gonna turn off the light and try my hardest to get some shut eye.

Music, Chocolate and Slow Insanity

So,

Last Saturday I mosied on down to The Moat Theatre Naas to check out their annual battle of the bands. Their were a few people I knew playing in it, including my cousin, and I was in the mood for a break from my college work. What's a better break than listening to some tunes and snapping a few pics!

Their were two showcase bands also playing, Miracle Bell and Funzo. I have been a fan of Miracle Bell for quite some time now and I think they have really perfected their sound now. Their first single "Fit For Love" off of their up and coming album "Light Shape Sound" was released on itunes on the 26th of March and if you get time I really recommend downloading it and having a listen. It'll be worth the 99 cent!!

I had never heard the other band which played, Funzo, but I have to say I really liked them. They were different, and I like different. It was a nice change from the usual over fuzzed noise pit that a lot of bands seem to be falling into! I really recommend looking them up to. They won't be everyone's cup of tea (which was made clear to me by my sister) but I quite like them.

Anyway, at the battle of the bands, 12 young bands battled out to win a recording day and a slot at the K fest which will be taking place during the Punchestown festival in Naas. There were a few good bands and I want to say congrats to the two bands which tied for first place, Side FX and Faabjous Day.

A good Day was had!

One thing that iffed me a bit though was the lack of girls in the bands. There was one girl out of all the 12 bands!! Come on ladies! What's happened to Girl Power!! So myself and my friend Hooch have plans for the summer to get together and create some tunes. Whether or not a band shall form or not is a mystery but I guess you shall just have to watch this space!

Then it was Sunday, which was Easter, which meant I no longer had to starve myself of chocolate!! Oh the joy I felt eating that Wispa was unreal haha! I actually stayed up till midnight on Saturday just to have a wispa and a can of coke. It was heavenly!
There is a chocolate bunny currently staring at me from across the sitting room, but I'm trying to restrain myself and pace the chocolate consumption so that I don't eat till I explode!

So, I'm into the second week of my Easter holidays. Not that I can really call them holidays seeing as I've been working right throughout!!! I have 5 different deadlines, 4 of which are due next week and I also have a film to finish for the week after that. I think I'm making good progress on the film, but true to form I had to make it very difficult for myself and make it 3 times the length it was meant to be. Well done Claire, well done for being an idiot!

I really need to get out and do something that doesn't involve drawing a girl with illuminous orange hair and a boy that my mother has nicknamed Rolf due to his resmblence to a young Rolf Harris. (I was not amused by the comparison) but I'm scared that if I take any more time off I wont get it done, and I really wanna prove that I can get it done! *sigh*

Anyway, I better get back to work, hopefully I can get a few more scenes done before dinner.

Good Morning Interwebz

Well, thought I might aswell start this thing up and running. I have no idea why but yesterday it just took my fancy to start up a blog, so here I am, typing at 2.15 am when I really should be sleeping or doing something way more productive!

Soo.....Hey!
I'm not really sure what I'll be using this blog for to be honest. It's mostly just an excuse for me to vent randomly to complete internet strangers about the annoyances in my life. Not that there are many of those, my life is pretty dandy and the moment! But just in case I ever need to get something off my chest, I know my computer screen and keyboard will be waiting for me with open arms.
